🏞️ National Parks, No Crowds?

🥾From conquering the Gunnison Route to avoiding a busted hose 💦

Hey Our Campfire Unplugged Friends!

We're midway through our Colorado loop, and guess what?

Rocky Mountain National Park felt... calm.

We expected summer crowds—but we breezed through the gate, found parking, and enjoyed peaceful trails. Staying on the Grand Lake (west) side gave us a totally different experience than the usual Estes Park traffic jam.

💡 Want an easier way to plan a national park visit?
We used Dirt In My Shoes (how we used DIMS to plan our Yellowstone adventure) to organize our days, hit all the highlights, and skip the overwhelm. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting a busy park this summer.

And of course, RV Travel GPT helped us brainstorm hikes, plan backup stops, and customize our trip to fit our style of adventure.

🎒 Then we hiked the Gunnison Route at Black Canyon of the Gunnison—a 1.5-mile descent straight down 1,800 feet to the river. It was more route than trail, with scrambles and loose rock all the way. One of the hardest hikes we’ve ever done—and totally worth it. Watch our video!!!

💦 Your Hose Isn’t Safe Without This

Right before we hit the road, our first campground in St. Louis warned us:
“High water pressure—use a regulator.”

They weren’t kidding. Our gauge read 120+ PSI 😱

If we hadn’t had our water pressure regulator (affiliate link), our hose would’ve popped like a balloon.

Common RV Electrical Problems!

⚡ RV Power, Travel Trends & AI That Actually Saves Time Hey Our Campfire Unplugged Friends! Summer heat is brutal right now—and it’s not just uncomfortable. When every RV in the park is running dual A/Cs, microwaves, and fans nonstop, campground power grids get overloaded fast. That’s when things get risky. Mini brownouts and power dips can fry your RV’s electrical system—and trust us, you won’t always see it coming. On our trip to the Finger Lakes last year, it was 95 degrees and full sun in...
